The Board's Bill AB 115 is making its way through the Legislative Session. The Assembly Commerce and Labor Committee passed the bill with an amendment relating to transition of administrative functions from the Board of Hearing Aid Specialists.
The Board of Examiners for Audiology and Speech Pathology was established in 1979 under the provisions of NRS Chapter 637B to protect the public health, safety and welfare by ensuring that only competent persons practice audiology and speech pathology in the State. The Board is responsible for administration, enacting regulations and enforcement of the laws and regulations relating to the practice of audiology and speech pathology in Nevada. The Board licenses qualified audiologists and speech pathologists and regulates the professional practice of audiology and speech pathology throughout the State.
The Board is funded solely by licensing fees assessed audiology and speech pathology practitioners. The Board of Examiners for Audiology and Speech Pathology does not receive funds from the State General Fund.
